What is a Gammy Bird?

The Gammy Bird is a common eider (sea duck) typically found in Newfoundland. They are known for their sociable quacking behavior thus named after the term ‘gamming’ – a practice among ‘ships of old’ to dock at sea and shout the news to one another.
